What Does 2019 Hold for Your Business?

Happy New Year to all of our friends and clients! As we begin 2019, we are looking forward to many changes. This is the last year of support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 and Server 2008r2. All Microsoft extended support for these operating systems ends January 14, 2020. This means that all security patches and updates from Microsoft will stop. Once support ends, these operating systems become vulnerable to malware, viruses and cyberattacks due to the lack of security patches and fixes. Networks still running these operating systems will no longer be compliant with HIPAA as well as certain other industry regulations. 2019 is the year to get your computer system updated and to make sure it will meet all required regulations in 2020.

During the last quarter of 2018, we added a new member to our Cahaba Valley Computer Services team. Sherri Fauer joined us as the new office administrator. Sherri is doing a great job of handling all of the incoming calls and making sure that all of the service requests are taken care of in a timely manner.During 2018 we also added several new products to our list of available solutions. We are now able to offer a great backup / disaster recovery and business continuity solution that enables your business to operate as close to normal as possible in the event of a disaster or crisis. A disaster can be anything from a fire or flood to a destructive attack from the outside or from within. Several new products and services are now available to proactively try to stop ransomware and other cyberattacks from disrupting your day to day business operations.

If you would like to take a look at some of the latest technology options available for your business, or to schedule a time to phase out Windows 7, please call our office at 205-980-9903 to request a free consultation. We will be glad to meet with you and discuss ways that we can help protect your valuable data and keep your business running as smoothly as possible.

Happy New Year,

John Browning
